CrossFire Rules

These rules apply to all users. Violations can result in a warning, suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity and history.

1

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use CrossFire. Creating an account on behalf of someone under 18 is prohibited.

2

One Account Per Person

Each person may hold only one account. Creating duplicate or alternative accounts to evade a ban, manipulate ratings, or abuse matchmaking is prohibited.

3

Debate the Argument, Not the Person

Attacks must be directed at your opponent's position — not at them personally. Personal insults, name-calling, and targeted harassment are not permitted inside or outside the debate room.

4

No Hate Speech or Discrimination

Content that dehumanises, demeans, or threatens people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.

Immediate permanent ban

5

No Deliberate Forfeit Abuse

Intentionally disconnecting or surrendering to avoid a loss, or to manipulate your rating, is cheating. Repeated forfeit abuse results in a rating penalty and possible suspension.

6

Evidence Must Be Genuine

Sources submitted during the Evidence round must be real, publicly accessible URLs. Fabricating, misrepresenting, or deliberately misquoting sources is prohibited.

7

No Spam or Gibberish

Messages must contain genuine argumentative content. Submitting repeated characters, meaningless text, or off-topic content to waste time or game AI scoring is a violation.

8

Respect Privacy

Do not share another person's real name, address, phone number, workplace, or any other identifying information ("doxxing") without their explicit consent.

Immediate permanent ban

9

AI Scoring Is Final

Debate outcomes and Elo changes are determined by the AI judge and are not subject to appeal. If you believe a system error occurred (not simply disagreement with the result), contact support.

10

Public Debates Are Public

When you set a debate to Public, any CrossFire user may spectate and the transcript may be displayed on the platform. Don't say anything you wouldn't want recorded under your username.

11

Good-Faith Reporting Only

Use the Report button to flag genuine violations. Filing bad-faith or retaliatory reports is itself a rule violation.

12

Enforcement

Rule enforcement is at the discretion of CrossFire moderators. Actions range from a warning to a permanent ban depending on severity and history. Serious violations (hate speech, doxxing, credible threats) result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning.
